What do you want?
Make a list today…What do you want? Seriously, make a list…
Stop. You kept reading…I told you to make a list. Spend 2 minutes, seriously just 2 minutes. Right now. Write it down. What do you want?
Now ask, “Do you want what God wants?”
Do you? Look at your list…Do you want what he wants? Pastor Dave Holdren asks that question. But he is only a surrogate. God asks us that daily. Do you want what He wants for you? Do you trust Him?
The will of God for your life is often hard to determine. It comes at the pace determined by God. He knows when you can handle the news, the call. What we are asked is to believe and have faith. Belief and Faith. Start there.
When you start there it will lead to Trust. It will lead to a full Belief, a full Faith and a full Trust in him. When you trust Him, you can start to see the will of God. This will, God’s will for your life, is always positive and liberating for you life.
But positive is not always pain free. Remember, positive is not always pain free. In fact, Pastor Dave stated it best…It will stretch your comfort zone. Read Genesis 12 today. Look at the faith of Abraham.
“The Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.” So Abram went, as the Lord had told him.
Abraham was 75 years old. And he went. He did not find the will of God immediately. He experienced much pain and discomfort. But he followed his command.
And Abraham was serious. He was intentional about following him. Today, are you intentional? Are you being intentional in your walk? Are you seriously seeking the will of God? Because if you are, if you are seriously pursuing the will of God, he will not let you miss his will for long…
Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.
Trust the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3: 3-5
Believe him. Have faith in him. And trust him. But we are not like Abraham. We have been given an advocate. Someone who is with us daily. So do not just wait in silence. Cry out to him. Ask for the advocate to come to you – I need help Lord, make straight my paths. Send your Holy Ghost! I trust in you Jesus, in you alone. Stay with that today and every day. Do it seriously and he will make straight your paths. He will make what you want perfect… perfect for his will. He will make your list anew. And you will find God’s will for your life. You will find Jesus.
